r< H. D. Acland, of Christchurch, is visiting Auckland. Mr. R- A. Lippincott left bv the express last evening for Wellington. >lr. and Mrs. Maurice Moscovitch will return from Rotorua to-morrow. Sir Hubert apd Lady Carr, of India, will sail by the Aorangi on Tuesday, April 10. Sir Francis Boys, of Christchurch, and Lady Boys will be in Auckland over Easter. The Hon. K. S. Williams, Minister of public Works, is to arrive in Auckland on Thursday. Mr. J- W. McDonald, Public Trustee at Wellington, is expected in Auckland during Easter week. Mr. R- McKeen, M. 3?. for Wellington South, is in Auckland on business. He returns South this evening. Mr. P. J- O’Regan, who has been staying at the Central Hotel, left for Wellington by the Limited last igDr. H. L. Gould, assistant medical superintendent of the Auckland Hospital, left by train for Wellington last evening. Mr. Kirby, of the Public Works Department, at Arapuni, will arrive in Auckland on Thursday. Mrs. Kirby will be with him. Mr. Eric Neumegen was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court by Mr. Justice Blair on Saturday, on the motion of Mr. W. 7. Gatenbj'. Dr. H. Belshaw, Professor of Economics at Auckland University Colleg, returned yesterday from Wellington, where he attended the sittings of the National Industrial Conference. Mr. H. D. Acland, chairman of the Canterbury College Board of Governors and president of the New Zealand Sheepowners’ Federation, arrived by the Limited this morning. Dr. P. F. McEvedy, chairman of the New Zealand Boxing Council, will leave for England on Thursday. He has been appointed delegate from the New Zealand Council to conferences to be held in London and Amsterdam. Sir James Reid Roberts, of London, has returned to Auckland after six weeks’ fishing in the Rotorua district and is staying at the Grand Hotel. He will sail by the Aorangi for Vancouver next week. He was for many years attached to the Indian Medical Service. Mr. H. G. Palethorpe, who is retiring from the directorate of Samuel Vaile and Sons, Ltd., to go into business on his own account, was entertained by the directors and staff on Saturday. Mr. H. E. Vaile referred to the firm’s appreciation of Mr. Palethorpe’s splendid work in its interests, and on behalf of the directors and the staff handed him fitting mementoes of the occasion.
