Governor-General to Give Garden Parties
REPRESENTATIVES OF INDUSTRY Their Excellencies the Gover-nor-General, Sir Charles Fergusson, and Lady Alice Fergusson will give two garden parties this month at Government House to people representing the various industries in Auckland. The first garden party will be given on April 21 and the second on April 28. It is expected that 1,200 people will attend each, function. The selection of those to attend Government House will be left to the managements of the various industries, who have already received the necessary information. It has been pointed out that where married men are invited and where they desire to take their wives, the total number must be included in the quota from that particular firm. For example if one firm received 20 invitations and 10 married men desired to take their wives, those 10 couples would make up the quota of that firm. When in residence at Christchurch recently their Excellencies inaugurated the idea of entertaining workers of various industries.
