BOARDING-HOUSE FIRE

TWENTY-ROOMED BUILDING DESTROYED

NOTHING SAVED

Press Association. DARGAVILLE, To-day A large two-storeyed wooden building of 20 rooms, used as a boarding house at Kirikopuni, owned by Messrs. Rope and Dalbeth and occupied byMrs. Froude, together with contents, was totally destroyed by fire early on Sunday morning. Mrs. Froude was away in Auckland and her daughter was also absent at the time of the fire. Being the week-end the boarders, who are Public Works employees, had not returned home. The insurance is not available, but the owners’ and occupants’ loss is considerable. No cause is assigned for the outbreak as there was no one in the house after 1 p.m. on Saturday.
