AWAKENED BY KISSES
MIDNIGHT INTRUDER PURSUIT AND CAPTURE Press Association. PALMERSTON N., Friday. A charge of breaking and enteri>* the house of Mr. F. Harris, with intent to commit a crime, was made against Stephen Gough, in the Magistrate’s Court to-day. Frederick Harris said that he had been awakened by his daughter calling out that there was a man in her room, and he had chased the intruder down the street and had caught him and brought him back. Accused was drunk at the time. Accused had often visited the house. Freda Harris, his daughter, said she had been awakened by someone kissing her. She had at first thought it was her sister, but she found that the intruder was a man. She recognised accused as he got out of the .window. She did not think he had any criminal intent. He had had too much liquet in the evening. Accused pleaded not guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial, bail being allowed in self, £IOO, and one surety of £IOO.
