PRINCESS AND TIVOLI

“THE LAST FRONTIER” “The Last Frontier,” now, being shown at the Princess and Tivoli Theatres, is a story, of the early days in Kansas and the struggles of the builders of the Missouri Pacific railway to construct their line despite the warring Sioux Indians. “The Last Frontier” is adapted from the novel by Courtney Ryley Cooper. William Boyd, Marguerite De La Motte, Jack Hoxie, J. Farrell Macdonald are featured, and Mitchell Lewis, Junior Coghlan, Gladys Brockwell and Frank Lackteen appear in the supporting cast. The second feature on the programme is “The Irresistible Lover.” This Universal-Jewel comedy co-stars Norman Kerry and Lois Moran, and is perhaps the most laughable farce of the season. It provokes howls of merriment from the opening, scene until the final fade-out, and withal contains a story that compares favourably with many of the so-called dramatic pictures. Kerry, a wealthy young bachelor, has love affairs galore with married women, single women, young women and old women, and has the time of his life having them until, as is flwnv the case, he finds one girl different from all the others. She is so different in fact that she gives him the air the minute she finds out who he is How he eventually wins her back with the unwilling aid of her young brother, provides the main theme of the story.
