NO "POT-HUNTING"

BASKETBALL PLAYERS CUT OUT TROPHIES INSTEAD of competing for the usual trophies this coming season, the annual meeting of the Auckland Basketball Association yesterday afternoon decided to play the game for the sake of the sport, and eliminate all trophies except the club shields. The motion came from Miss B. Lee, who pointed out that last season the sum of £l3 had been spent in trophies, and if these were dropped the play would improve, and there would not be so much jealousy. There were also great hopes of the association obtaining its own grounds, and the more money it had in hand the better chance there would be of achieving this object. The motion was carried unanimously.
