GREAT BITTERNESS
POLITICS IN POLAND SOCIALIST PRESIDENT By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Reed. 9.5 a.m. WARSAW, Thurs. The unexpected election by the Diet of a Socialist president, M. Daszynski, has created the bitterest feeling-. Ministerialists declined to participate in the election of the five vicepresidents. It is likely that the Premier, Marshal Pilsudski, will pass a preliminary Budget, and then order a dissolution of the Diet, to checkmate the Communists. —A. and N.Z. A Warsaw cablegram of Tuesday read as follows: A lively scene occurred in the Diet today. When the newly-elected 'members assembled for the first time the Communists shouted: “Down with the Dictatorship!” The Premier, Marshal Pilsudski, was interrupted to such an extent in his reading of the President’s address that he summoned the police and seven members were arrested. Then the Diet by 206 votes to 136 elected M. Daszynski president of the Chamber instead of Marshal Pilsudski’s candidate, M. Bartel. When M. Daszynski accepted office the Premier and his party immediately left the Diet.
