Women the World Over

SHELL FLOWERS Making flowers from sea-shells is a new and intriguing branch of art that is exciting much interest in England. One of the first women to start this hobby was Mrs. Palmer, a Frenchwoman of many-sided activities and artistic endowments. She began making shell flowers when visiting Devon some _ years ago, and now fashions beautiful rosebuds, forget-me-nots, anemones, and every known flower, cunningly painting the petals and sprays in the colours desired. Although she spends so much of her time making and designing shell flowers, she also designs gowns—which, as she is French, is not unusual.
