ST. MARY’S CONVENT FIRST CARNIVAL HELD The pupils of SL Mary's Convent held their first swimming carnival at Shelly Beach Baths yesterday. Some close and exciting finishes were witnessed. Miss M. Tyler carried off the senior championship, winning by a good margin. There was more competition in the junior championship, which Miss L. Drysdale won by a few inches. Girls under 15 years r Tyler 3, Murphy 2, Lynes 3. Senior championship: Tyler 1, Lynes 2; won easily. Breaststroke handicap: Meyers 1, Kean 2, Davies 3. Egg and spoon race: Drysdale 1. Junior championship: Drysdale 1, Radcliffe 2. O’Brien 3; a very close finish. Backstroke handicap: Drysdale 1, O’Brien 2, R.
