HEAVY TRAFFIC FEES
MOUNT WELLINGTON OBJECTS ROAD BOARD MEETING At a meeting of the Mount Wellington Road Board held last evening and presided over by Mr. George Kay, objection was expressed to the present system of allocation of heavy traffic licence fees. Mr. Kay had already interviewed the town clerk and city solicitor, and the board decided to notify the City Council that it considered the allocation should be made on a valuation basis, and not according to population, as was done at present. Mr. Kay and the board's clerk were appointed representatives to the conference of local bodies to be held tomorrow evening on the subject of the Auckland Transport Commission. Bell Road, at Westfield, was made a first-class road under the heavy traffic classification. Plans of subdivisions submitted by the Remuera-Panmure Land Company were approved.
