SURVEYOR’S DEATH

BODY NEAR TUNNEL OPEN VERDICT AT INQUEST On March 10, the body of Adam Maxwell Kelly, aged 63, a surveyor, of Auckland, was found near the city end of Parnell tunnel. At the inquest held yesterday by the coroner, Mr. W. R. McKean, an open verdict was returned. Belle Kelly, wife of the dead man, said that he was of a cheerful disposition. He left, home as usual on the day he disappeared. Evidence was given that Ivelly’s body was found on the following morning at the bottom of a 40ft embankment.

In returning the verdict, the coroner said there was no evidence to show how Kelly had met his death.
