EX-SOLDIER IDENTIFIED
IN SYDNEY MENTAL HOSPITAL CAME FROM TARANAKI By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. SYDNEY, Monday. The hitherto unknown ex-soldier in the Sydney mental hospital has now been identified. His name is stated to be McQuay, and he is said to have come from Taranaki, New Zealand.— A. and N.Z. A cablegram from Sydney on March 19 stated:—The Australian Returned Soldiers’ League for some time has been trying to establish the identity of an unknown ex-soldier, who is a patient in a mental hospital at Sydney where he has been for 11 years suffering from loss of memory. The league now believes the man to be a New Zealander, and has communicated with the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association.
