STAGE STARS
SEVERAL ON THE AORANGI There was no lack of amusement on board the Aorangi, which arrived from Vancouver yesterday morning. The stage was represented by several stars and vaudeville artists. Miss May Beatty (Mrs. Lauri), a New Zealander with an International name, Miss Kathryn Reece, who is going to Australia to play the lead in “Princess Charming.” Mr. and Mrs. Hantaan, song writers, and “The Kelsos” vaudeville artists were some of those who delighted the passengers on the journey. “The Kelsos,” who became famous on the vaudeville circuits in America, are returning to Australia after an absence of 16 years. The family really belongs to New Zealand, some of them having lived here before crossing the Tasman. The company presents a turn of four acts, and has played on the Keith and Schubert circuits throughout the States. There are Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kelso, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kelso, Mr. Howard Nichols, Mr. Maurice Kelly and four lions, but these last had to go by another boat. The Kelsos hope to tour New Zealand later in the year.
