HOUSE DESTROYED
HIGH WIND FANS FLAMES Press Association. WELLINGTON, Saturday. On Friday night a dwelling of six rooms, occupied by Mr. P. G. 'Vard and owned by Mrs. E. Burnette, at Rosemeath, was totally destroyed by fire. There was a high wind, and notwithstanding the brigade’s two hourfight an adjoining hous* was severely damaged by fire and water. The contents of Mrs. Buanette s house were insured fn the United Insurance Office for £3OO. FIRE AT GREYMOUTH Press Association. GREYMOUTH, V^-iay. A fire at throe o’clock this morning in the centre of Revell Street, gutted Stephens Brothers’ tobacconist and hairdressing saloon. The billir,rd room was damaged by water. The contents of the saloon and shop are a total loss, but the adjoining promises were undamaged. The insurance on the billiard tables was £l5O and on the fittings of the saloon, £SO, in the South British Co. The stock was insured for £ 500 in the Royal Exchange Co.
