SCHOOL SWIMMING

GALA AT HELENSVILLE Swimming competitions between pupils of the North Shore Schools and those of the Helensville Public School were held on Saturday afternoon in the Ladies’ Baths at Helensville. It is hoped to make the competitions an annual event. About 30 swimmers from North Shore travelled by motorbus to compete. By special arrangement a purely North Shore event, the Devonport Memorial Shield, was competed for by representatives of Devonport. Stanley Bay, Vauxhall and Belmont Schools; the winner was D. Fairgray, Devonport School.
