Ford’s 120,000 Men GENERAL MOTORS SENSATION FEVERISH BUYING ON ’CHANGE By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 9.5 a.m. NEW YORK. Friday. IT is reported that twelve Ford assembly plants are now running. The production average is 1,200 to 1,500 cars daily.
JjMFTEEN plants will be operating by April with a production of 2,000 daily. Henry Ford is now employing 120,000 workmen. The company hopes to have all of its 34 plants operating by June 1, with a production of 5,000 cars daily. To-day the Stock Exchange sales totalled 3,585,900 shares, making
the eleventh consecutive 3,000,000 share day. General Motors was a sensational feature, adding Si dollars a share, and closing at a record for the present shares of 187$. Traders on the exchange are beginning to feel the effects of the tremendous strain of the past two weeks, many nearing physical exhaustion during the session.—A. and N.Z.
