MAORI ENTERTAINMENT
FUNDS FOR ORPHAN HOME A concert of Maori items is being given by the Te Pou O Mangatawhiri company of Maoris from the Ngaruawahia Pa at the Orpheum Hall, Onehunga, to-night. The party is now on its third tour in four years through the North Island, and is trying to raise sufficient funds to build a convalescent home for orphans at the pa. With the profits of former tours three orphan homes have been built at Ngaruawahia. This talented company has won high praise in all towns where it has appeared. To-night it will give its entertainment in the form of a cabaret. The Maoris will include their interpretation of the Tainui War Canoe with war song accompaniments in their programme of hakas, poi dances and Maori waiatas.
