RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM
“THE LOVE MART” “The Love Mart” is now being shown at the Rialto and Regent Theatres. In the cast of this film, which is laid in New Orleans and its environs, in the romantic creole days, appear besides Miss Dove, (Gilbert Roland and Noah Beery—who enacts the heavy role—Armand Kaliz, recently seen in “The Stolen Bride,” a former picture starring Miss Dove; Emille Chautard, former director and eminent actor;
Boris Karloff, Andre Lanoy, Raymond Turner, the coloured comedian who worked in “The Patent Leather Kid” with Richard Barthelmess; Paul Vincenti, Robert Sellable and others.
The story deals with a momentous j incident in the life of Antoinette Frobelle, who is accused of being an octoroon and sold into slavery. How she is purchased by Victor Jallot, with his last dollar, and later proved white, to become the wife of her protector, forms one of the most compelling plots’ imaginable. y
