“THE KING OF KINGS” The story of “The King of Kings” as finally agreed upon and produced differs radically from the treatment outlined by Mr. de Mille in the beginning of the production work last summer. The fine dramatic sense of Mr. de Mille after he got into the story and the constructive criticism and assistance given him by religious forces, combined to produce a picture which will be epoch-making in the motion picture industry, and will present the story of Jesus in a new and fresh way to vast multitudes within and without the churches. The picture is a marvellous achievement of the cinema art. and will, no doubt, appeal to vast audiences irrespective of creed or communion. Every possible effort has been made to produce a picture free from controversy and acceptable to both Roman Catholic and Protestant, and with the least possible offence to the Jews. The New Testament narrative has made the basis of the story. “The King of Kings” is now being presented at Everybody’s Theatre, and is attracting large audiences at each session.
