MISS ANN E. LEIGH The death occurred this week of Miss Ann Elizabeth Leigh, aged 81, who was born in the village of Over, Gloucestershire, England, and arrived in New Zealand in 1885. For the past 30 years she has resided at Howick, where she took a great interest in All Saints’ Church. Miss Leigh is survived by three brothers, Mr. T. V. Leigh, Howick, Mr. George Leigh, Manitoba, Canada, and Mr. W. Leigh, Bristol, England. MR. WILLIAM ROBINSON A well-known personality in Auckland cricket, Mr. William Robinson, died on Wednesday at the age of 64 years. It is 30 years since Mr. Robinson came to New Zealand from Cambridge, England, and resided in the Hawke’s Bay district. Later he entered a contracting partnership with his brother at Howick. For over 12 years prior to the outbreak of the Great War he played for the senior team of the Ponsonby Cricket Club. He was a fine wicketkeeper and a vigorous batsman. In 1902 he gained a place in the Auckland team as wicketkeeper in the match against Lord Hawke’s team and again against Captain Wynyard’s M.C.C. team in 1906. He played for Auckland on many occasions. For a number of years Mr. Robinson was a member of the committee of the Auckland Workingmen’s Club..
MR. J. T. MILLER (From Our Own Correspondent.) TAURANGA, To-day. The death has occurred of Mr. James Thomas Miller, a well-known settler of Omokoroa. M.r. Miller, who was 64 years of age, was born in Hawke’s Bay. He moved to Omokoroa 29 years ago, where he engaged in the fruitgrowing industry. He is survived by a widow, one son and one daughter.
