HOCKEY REFEREES
A SUCCESSFUL YEAR ASSOCIATION MEETS A successful year’s opei’ations was reported to the annual meeting of the Auckland Hockey Referees’ Association last evening. The annual report showed that the membership last season was 35, of which four were lady members. During the year six new members were enrolled, three being lady mfembers. Over 600 matches, not including Country Week or the King’s Birthday tournament games, were controlled by members of the association last season. An attempt was made to have the New Zealand headquarters removed from Wellington, but this had been defeated by the easting vote of the chairman at the annual general meeting of the New Zealand Association. Officers were elected as follow: Patron, Mr. N. H. Norton; president, Mu. B. Cooper; vice-president, Mr. G. E. Waddingham; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. G. Peace; hon. auditor, Mr. H. B. Speight; delegate to the Auckland Hockey Association, Mr. F. Nicholson; appointments committee, Messrs. G. Peace, F. Nicholson, R. Avery; emergency committee, Messrs. G. Peace, B. Cooper and C. Preston.
