SCHOOL BEATS OLD BOYS
MT. ALBERT CRICKET MATCH
Mount Albert Grammar School eleven defeated an Old Boys’ side yesterday at Eden Park by 17 runs on the first innings. The Old BoyS batted first and were dismissed for 128 (L. Vivian 39, G. L. Weir 35). D. Webb took six for 35, and King three for 12. The school went in and made 145 (Webb 36, H. Vivian 29). For Old Boys Weir took four for 38, and Bleakley three for 12.
The Old Boys attacked the bowling in the second innings with the object of dismissing the school again. Skelton scored 44, Bush 28 and Weir 22, the innings being declared closed with seven wickets down for 143. Webb took six wickets for 51, and Fraser one for 47. This left the school with 127 needed for a win outright and about an hour in which to get the runs. Five wickets fell for 100, Aickin scoring 33 not out and Webb 19. For the Old Boys Weir took four wickets for 32 and Hintz one for 12.
