PUKEROA’S PROGRESS

YEAR’S GOOD RECORD Pukeroa Club, which has it headquarters in Mountain Road, has a great record this year, the first season of its affiliation with the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association. It won the final of the D grade city inter-club on Saturday in a close finish with Campbell Park, and it reached the semi-final of C grade, losing only one match. The top pair on its ranking list, Sims and Abbott, won the C grade championship of Auckland at the end of January,, and the runners-up were their club-mates. Woods and Tonson. Pukeroa has the use of three good chip courts during the week and four on Saturdays. Sunday play is allowed.
