ATTRACTING TOURISTS

INTERESTING LECTURE A pjrophecy that there would be a large increase in the number of tourists coming to New Zealand if they were handled properly after arriving in the Dominion was nu de last evening by Mr. A. S. Blaekle, at a lecture given at the University. Mr. Blackie Is general manager ol National Tours, Ltd., and has made a considerable study of the tourist trade. He remarked during the course of his lecture that the right way to look on the tourist traffic was in the light of a trade or business. The lecture proved most interesting and was illustrated by some very beautiful views of the South Island and also of hotels In England and America. Mr. Blackie made a few comparisons with other countries showing how they catered for their tourists.
