MAYORS AND EX-MAYORS

SUGGESTED ASSOCIATION The founder of the Justices of the Peace Association, Mr. J. Bussell Brun.t, of Christchurch, who i 3 attending the annual conference of the Association in Auckland, called on the Mayor of Auckland, Mr. G. Baildon, yesterday, and suggested that Auckland should follow the lead of Christchurch in forming a Mayors’ and exMayors’ Association. Mr. Brunt told Mr. Baildon that, with Messrs. J. A. Flesher and H. Holland, M.P., two former Mayors of Christchurch, he had convened a meeting which had been attended by 22 ex-Mayors, and 18 others hd written expressing their sympathy with the suggested association. Another meeting will be held during the Diamond Jubilee celebrations in Christchurch.
