FIRE AT TAUPIRI

HOMESTEAD DESTROYED OWNERS HEAVY LOSS (Prom Our Own Correspondent.) HUNTLY, To-day. Fire completely destroyed the homestead bungalow of seven rooms on Mr. Leslie Kosoof’s farm at Taupiri South at 1 a.m. on Sunday morning. The manager, Mr. W. Houlihan, his wife and child, and an employee, were the only occupants at the time of the outbreak, and they escaped in their night attire. The fire apparently started in the kitchen. The owner, who is a draper at Huntly, is a very heavy loser by the fire. There was a policy of £6OO in the Ocean Office, covering the building, which was quite recently erected at double that amount. Mr. Houlihan’s effects were insured.
