STOLEN HEDGE-CLIPPERS MAN’S BAD RECORD Dennis Patrick Mahoney. aged 58, did not get a good testimonial when he appeared at the Police Court to-day. Mahoney pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing a pair of hedge-clippers valued at 7s 6d. Sub-Inspector McCarthy said that accused had been doing some gardening for a woman, and walked away with the clippers. “He is a well-known sneak-thief, and has been declared an habitual criminal. He can’t keep his hands off things.” He was sentenced to 21 days* imprisonment.
