FRENCH NOBLE’S BUSINESS FORGED ANNULMENTS OF MARRIAGE By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 10 a m. LONDON, Sunday. The Paris correspondent of "The Times” says that the arrest of the Norman noble, the Vicomte de Gosson of Varennes, disclosed a flourishing business in forged Papal annulments of marriage, patents of nobility and certificates for foreign aud French orders. , , M. Sabatier, Vicar-General and Archbishop of Paris, noticed an increase in dispensatory remarriages, and traced the forgeries to Cosson, who asserted that he sold them on the distinct understanding that they were not genuine. A search of the Vicomte’s villa revealed an elaborate organisation capable of supplying titles or any order for £l2O to £4BO, and annulments of marriages for £2OO. Their remarriages have placed the celebrants in an embarrassing position.—A. and N.Z.
