Obituary

MR. R. J. ENTRICAN Mr. Robert John Entrican. brother of the Deputy-Mayor. Mr. A. J. Entrican* died yesterday after a protracted illness. Mr. Entrican. who was born in thd North of Ireland, arrived in New Zealand in 1889, and joined his brother in business. Later, ho entered the land and agency business on his own account, becoming also principal agent for the Northern Insurance Company. For 20 years he was a director of the Co-operative Terminating Building Society. He leaves a wife and a family of four. One son, Mr. A. R. Entrican, is an officer of the Forestry Department, who is at present in the United States.

MR. F. G. QUICK

There died recently at Victoria, British Columbia, Mr. F. G. Quick, who was for some years employed by Messrs. John Reid and Co., merchants of Auckland. Mr. Quick, who received part of his education at the Auckland. Grammar School, later wen to America, and spent some time in the legal circles of San Francisco. Mr. Quick afterwards went on tbe land, and took up a ranch with his brother, Mr. W. F. Quick, in the Saanich district, British Columbia, where he built up a reputation as a fine breeder of Jersey cattle. He also took an interest in local politics, and was Mayor of Saanich for a term. Mr. Quick is survived by his widow and a brother, Mr. F. J. Quick, of Taka puna.

MR. G. J. E. BICKFORD Press Association. DANNEVIRKE, To-day. The death is announced of Mr. George J. E. Bickford, aged 62. a former manager of the Bank of New' Zealand in Dannevirke, a position which he held for 30 years. He had a keen interest in public affairs and was actively associated -with practically every institution and society in the town. He leaves a widow.
