TRAINER’S APPEAL FAILS FINES AND CANCELLINGS Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. Tho appeal of E. J. Dwyer against the penalty of 12 months’ suspension from riding and driving for having used threatening language to another trainer, was before the board of the New Zealand Trotting Association this evening. The board decided to alter the penalty from suspension for twelve months to disqualification for twelve months. It was also decided to call upon Dwyer and T. McKay to appear before the next meeting of the board to show why they should not be dealt with under rules 221 and 351. It was stated that Dwyer, after suspension, had ridden at the Invercargill and Wyndham meetings. L. Smith and H. A. Raines were fined £2O each for failure to register a joint interest in the horse Gold Print. It was decided to call F. G. Holmes before the licensing committee to show cause why his licence should not be cancelled in connection with driving Daphne de Oro at Tirnaru.
