MOTOR FIRM SUED

LUGGAGE DAMAGED (From Our Own Correspondent.) TE KUITI, Thursday. Reserved judgment was given by Mr. R. M. Watson, S.M., in the Magistrates Court. Te Kuiti, in the case in whicri W. Morlev, merchant, of Christchurch, claimed from A. E. Magon (of Magon 6 Motors, Ltd.) the sum of £44 17s, being the value of suitcases, clothing and "personal belongings allegedly lost and damaged during transit from Hamilton to Te Kuiti by defendant’s motor service. . The ease had been adjourned in order to permit defendant’s counsel to consult authorities regarding the term “common carrier,’’ which, according to plaintiff’s counsel, was the capacity of defendant. After having heard legal argument, his Worship gave judgment for plaintiff for £32 and costs.
