EASTERN AND MARCONI’S PROVISIONAL AGREEMENT By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. LONDON, Wednesday. It is stated in well-informed quarters that a merger between Marconi’s and the Eastern Cable Companies is imminent. two companies announce that they have reached a provisional agreement to fuse their interests, subject to a satisfactory agreement being made with the British Dominions and the Indian Government, and also the acceptance of the proposed merger by shareholders, pending which no announcement of terms can be made. —A. and N.Z.-Sun.
