DEMAND FOR STORE SHEEP Dalgety and Company, Limited report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frank ton saleyards on March 13, as under:— , There was a moderate yardir.g of beef. Prices very firm It late rates. Prime light steers, £lO 10s; young prime cows, to £8 10s; ordinary qualitv cows. £6 15s to £7 17s 6d: light fat 17s ss; vealers, light, £2; a small mtry of store cattle; store cows, £3 10s; Jersey X calves, 295. There was a large yarding of sheep, with a good demand for stores, and prices were higher than last week. Our ; entry consisted of 1,527 sheep and lambs, and practically all sold at the following rates. 128 short ewe lambs, 15s 6d; 33 woolly lambs, 17s; 17 woolly wether lambs, 15s 9d; 30 woolly wether lambs, 15s; 283 well-grown early shorn wether lambs, 18s; 13 7 short wether lambs, 14s 4d; 46 Down cross Jambs, 13s; 110 four and six-tooth ewes, 25s 3d; 160 four and five-year ewes, 21s 6d; 60 cull ewes, 12s; 103 mixed aged ewes, 17s 6d: Shropshire rams, £4 4s. Heavy baconers made £3 16s to £4 3s; medium baconers, £3 9s to £3 11s; light porkers, £2 18s to £3 8s; best porkers, £1 15s to £2 3s; light porkers, i £1 Ss to £1 14s: stores, 16s to £1 2s; ; slips, Ss to 12s; best weaners, 4s to 7s; others, 2s to is.
