£IOO FROM MARRIED WOMAN CASE IN MAGISTRATE’S COURT Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day A claim for £IOO damages for alleged defamation of character was made in the Magistrate’s Court by Ray Taylor, a returned soldier and war pensioner, of North Beach, against Emily Elizabeth Roscoe, a married woman. It was alleged that Mrs. Roscoe sent a letter to plaintiff’s; doctor saying “I will put you on your guard. H« is nearly always drunk as soon as you go, and he is on his bicycle next morning off to the pub.” The defence was a. justification of the statement and absence of malice. The case is proceeding.
