Adeliide and Melbourne, she is due at d Sydney on March 22. t ADD Coastal Movements. .. fou MATATUA ARRIVING. —At 4 o’clock t this afternoon, the Shaw, Savill and Al- “ bion steamer, Matatua, is expected to 3 > return to Auckland from Southern ports, according to her radio report received this morning by Messrs. A. S. Paterson n and Company. The vessel will berth at l. Prince’s Wharf for final loading, and at d daybreak on Saturday next is to be dispatched for London, via Panama. 't VOCO AT SYDNEY.—On her maiden voyage, the Vacuum oil tanker Voco arrived at Sydney recently. Constructed II on the Isherwood system to the highest class of Lloyd’s Register, and also in a compliance with the Board of Trade requirements for vessels of her class, she 3 is 460 feet in length between perpendiculars,, 62 feet 6 inches in moulded n breadth, 36 feet 6 inches in moulded )r depth, and carries a dead-weight of 12,770 s, tons, on a 28 feet draught. There are >•• nine main cargo tanks, subdivided by a 5; continuous longitudinal oil-tight bulkhead extending to the upper deck. A cofferdam is provided between Nos. 3 and 4 :- tanks; there are also cofferdams at the :- after-ends of the cargo compartments. Summer tanks are fitted on each side in i- way of main oil tanks. The Voco is the r, third vessel added to the Vacuum Oil l- Company’s fleet during the past few i- months, and another, the Yarraville, is shortly to come to Australia. Each >s of these vessels can carry 3,200,000 galL lons of oil. OLD AUSTRALIAN COASTER. —The ' e steamer Glaucus, which for more than six months has been berthed at Town Pier, Port Melbourne, has been removed to a bay anchorage. Having been at n anchor in Hobson’s Bay for three years, d the Glaucus was brought alongside the wharf to be converted into -a store ship rt for barley. She is one of the oldest 1, steamers on the Australian coast, having ;- been built by J. Laing, of Sunderland, in h 1878. She is an iron vessel of 1,363 tons gross register. For many years she was a collier on the Australian coast, being owned for a time by James Paterson and - Co. After the war she was bought by rt H. B. Black and Co., who ran her for a rt few trips in the phosphate trade to the >r Pacific Islands before laying her idle at Melbourne under offer of sale.
