UNKNOWN VESSEL SIGHTED NO REPLY TO SIGNALS Press Association. NAPIER, Monday. With reference to a steamer that was reported to be in distress off Porangahau on Sunday evening, the Kahika, which arrived at Napier at 1.30 p.m. to-day, reports having sighted an unknown vessel a little south of Cape Turnagain. The Kahika signalled but received no reply. No further steps were taken, as the ship sighted appeared to be proceeding normally on a southerly course.
