RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM
“WILD BEAUTY” A picture as happy and as free as the great outdoors ip which is was filmed is “Wild Beauty,” the 'spectacular wild horse story, which is now at the Rialto and Regent Theatres. Rex, the famous Morgan stallion, is the star of the picture, which is at the same time unusual in theme and in treatment. The mountain country of the great West furnishes the beautiful and elaborate setting in which this dramatic picture takes place. “Wild Beauty” is probably more general in appeal than any motion picture we have seen for months. A horse who can act just like a man is a marvel in itself. The story is built around Rex, and Rex has his wild horse herd and has to battle for supremacy, win the heart of a Kentucky mare from an Indian pony rival, slay a lion in mortal combat and sacrifice the free life for his love. The picture is intensely gripping.
The human cast is well-chosen and the animal and human plots are cleverly interwoven by director Henry Macßae. June Marlowe is a beautiful and completely fascinating heroine, while Hugh Allan makes a dashing hero.
