NEW HOSPITAL ANNEXE

MATERNITY HOME OPENED AT TE KOPURU HON. J. A. YOUNG OFFICIATES (From Our r—n Correspondent.) DAUOAVILLE, To-day. Having completed his tour of the Bay of Islands, the Hon. J. A. Young, Minister of Health, performed the opening ceremony at the new maternity annexe to the Kaipara Hospital at Te Kopuru yesterday. The chairman of the Hospital Board, Mr. J. H. McCarroll, summarised the history of the hospital. He said he was proud to say that it had never been found necessary to raise loans when making improvements, and yet the hospital rate had never exceeded |d in the £l. The building and equipment of the new annexe, which was in every way up-to-date, had cost £3,000.

The Minister, who was presented with a silver key by Miss I. McCarroll, congratulated the board on having the lowest hospital rate of the northern district.
