PICNIC AT WAIHEKE
SHELL COMPANY’S OUTING The staff of the Shell Company of New Zealand, Ltd., held its annual picnic at Rocky Bay, Waiheke, on Saturday, about 200 people attending. A good sports programme was keenly contested, the results being: 100yds Shell Championship: F. S. Stubbs 1, J. Wilson 2. Shell Championship (women): Miss Cooper 1, Miss M. E. Martin 2. Department Handicap: Office—E. Middleton 1, B. Bassett 2; insulation and transport—J. Wilson », C. Jenkenson 2. Tug-of-war: Transport 1. Relay Race, won by office: Miss Cooper, F. S. Stubbs, B. Bassett, M. R. Reilly. 100yds Handicap: P. Payne 1, M. B. Jackson 2, A. R. Finn 3. Egg and Spoon: Miss Budd 1, Miss Bassett 2. Three-legged Race: Mr. and Miss Maxwell 1, Miss Martin and Mr. Reid 2. Potato Race: Miss Cooper 1. Wheelbarrow Race: Miss M. Dickin and Mr. Newman. Sack Race: Mr. Kirk. The prizes were distributed on the boat on the return journey by Mrs. A. F. Castle.
