FATAL COLLISION AT OPOTIKI ARREST OF MOTORIST (From Our Own Correspondent) OPOTIKI, To-day. A Maori chief, Amohaera Tarau, known as Johnny Tarau, who was injured in a motor-car accident on Friday night, died in the hospital yesterday morning. AN inquest was opened and adjourned sine die. Deceased, who was married, was a rangatira. and a big tangi is in progress at Wioeka pa. Parkinson, the driver of one of the cars, was arrested on a charge of being drunk while in charge of a motor-car. He was remanded till Thursday.. It is understood other charges are pending.
