EDUCATIONAL ADVANCE
MOUNT ALBERT CONVENT NEW BUILDING OPENED “There is not a Catholic school that is not a powerhouse of God,” said Bishop Cleary yesterday, when he opened an extension to the Marist Convent at Mount Albert. The convent was established a year ago by two sisters; but now there are five, four being Australians. The building additions include two classrooms, a dormitory for pupils, and more sleeping accommodation for the sisters. Bishop Cleary, in opening the building, congratulated the parishioners on their effort. Religion to them was evidently no Sunday coat to be slipped off g.nd on. One of the objects of the school was to bring the children up in a knowledge of Christ, and in this respect the sisters were doing wonderful work. Mr. H. G. R. Mason. M.P.. congratulated the parish on the completion of so fine a work.
