Railways Board Chairman Resigns

NEW EXECUTIVE CONTROL MR. CASEY’S APPOINTMENT (.From Our Resident Reporter.') WELLINGTON. To-day. The chairman of the Railways Board of Management, Mr. F. J. Jones, has asked to be retired from his position from the end of the financial year, March 31. It is believed the retirement has been accepted. Official confirmation of the report, published in The Sun of Wednesday regarding the reorganisation of the executive control of the railways has not yet been announced, but a statement by the Minister of Railways, the Right Hon. J. G. Coates, may be expected shortly.

As already reported it is expected that Mr. E. Casey, of Auckland, will be appointed to the new executive.
