CHEQUE FOR £I,OOO LEAVING FOR SYDNEY By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 10.45 a.m. BRISBANE, To-day. The Australian airman, Mr. Bert Hinkler, lias been enthusiastically received. A round of festivities has been arranged in his honour, and he was presented to-day with a cheque for £I,OOO at the “Brisbane Courier” office, as the first instalment of a public subscription. Hinkler leaves for Sydney tomorrow. —A. and N.Z.
