Fires for Fighters. —Frederick Bird and Sydney Urwin were charged at the Police Court to-day with fighting in a public place. Urwin was fined £l, and Bird 10s. Maintenance Default. —Joseph Greenwood, aged 39, charged at the Police Court to-day with being £327 in arrears on a maintenance order, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. Privy Counc I Appeals. —Thirty * i and a-half columns of the latt st Gazette are occupied by an Order-in-Council relating to amendments in the procedure in appeals to the Privy Council. Hurt by Hand Trucks. —fcjufTernig from abnominal injuries received through being struck by the handle «*f a hand truck, Mr. B. Bushell, of 7 Vincent Place, was taken to the Auckland Hospital yesterday by the i>t. John Ambulance. His condition is reported as satisfactory- A hand truck swinging suddenly caught Mr. K. E. C. Melton, a railway employee, a blow on the arm. He was admitted to hospital.
