CHERNIAVSKYS TO-NIGHT
TRIO’S FINAL CONCERT
The Cherniavsky brothers will play to-night at the final concert at His Majesty’s Theatre, in the presence of Lady Alice Fergusson and a party from Government House.
A particularly interesting programme has been selected for the occasion. The numbers will include: —’Cello, (a) “Melancolique” (Tschaikowski), (b) “Serenade Espagnole”
(Glazounow), (c) “Lance of the Elves” (Popper); piano, (a), “Mazurka” (Chopin), (b) “Fantasie in F Minor” (Chopin); violin, (a) “Andante” (Lalo), (b) “Polonaise” (Vieuxtemps); trio, (a) “Ave Maria” (Gounod), (b) “At the Brook” (Boisdeffre>. The brothers will also play the famous trio of Brahms.
For years the Cherniavskys have travelled the Avorld—this is their sixth visit to New Zealand—delighting music-lovers in every part of the globe. Each visit makes them more popular. Leo, the violinist, Jan at the piano, and Mischel with his ’cello, can always be certain of a welcome from an Auckland audience.
