MAJESTIC
“FUN IN THE CLOUDS” To-night the popular programme which has been enjoying a very successful season at the Majestic Theatre will be screened for the last time, for to-morrow commences another of the Majestic’s inimitable laughter programmes, headed by “Fun in the Clouds,” otherwise “Publicity Madness,” starring charming Lois Moran and Edmund Lowe. This production, co-starring Edmund Lowe and Lois Moran, is a study in contrasts, with comedy depending on the characterisations and situations rather than any set “gags.” There is the unsuppressable soap salesman —Edmud Lowe. He finds himself in any number of tight places from which h£ extricates himself neatly, and humorously.
The old-fashioned owner of the soap factory, “Uncle Elmer,” gives E. J. Ratcliff© another opportunity to create another lovable character. Arthur Housman, in the role of a bill collector, is said to create nothing but merriment with his methods of collection. Norman Peck as the shy, high-brow Wilbur, the office boy, furthers many a humorous scene through his reactions. One of the Majestic Theatre’s notable supporting programmes will be screened and will include an amusing Aesop Fable, “House Cleaning,” a beautiful scenic of Italy, “Romantic Alhambra,” a merry comedy with Priscilla Lean and Stan Laurel in “Slipping Wives,” and the interesting Majestic Magazine with many notable scenes of recent important world events. An ambitious but delightful musical programme will be rendered by Mr. J. Whiteford-Waugh’s Majestic Orchestra, who will feature among the many musical gems rendered the “Ballet Suite” from “Le Lac Des Cygnes” (Tschaikowsky), fantasia on the opera. “Inquisitive Women” (Wolf-Ferari), “Suite Mignon” (Jean Sibelius), Grieg’s “Norwegian Lances,” “Witches’ Lance,” by MacLo.well, and selections from the well-known musical comedy, “Mary.”
A feature on the musical programme will be flute and clarinet duets by the talented soloists, Mr. Frank Poore (flute), and Mr. J. McGregor (clarinet), who will render “The Mad Scene,” from “Lucia Li Lammermoor." and “Two Little Bullfinches” (Kling).
