Post Boxes Flooded.—The heavyrain on Tuesday filled the lowlying areas in the Edendale district very quickly, and surrounded some of the letter-boxes. It -was impossible for residents to post any letters and it is thought that the department will have the boxes moved to higher country. Fires Still Alight.—Notwithstanding a heavy rainfall the peat fires in th»Ruakura Swamp are reported to be still burning.
