YALLOURN EPIDEMIC INSANITARY TOWNSHIP By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 12.15 p.m. MELBOURNE, To-day. In connection with the deaths of seven young children at Yallouru from a mysterious epidemic, the district health officer has reported that the chief cause was the moist, steamy weather, the plague of flies, and insufficient precautions for preventing contamination of food, particularly milk. His report added that 40 to 50 per cent, of the houses in the Yallourn area were unfit for habitation. The main contributing factor to the epidemic was the extremely insanitary condition of the township.—A. . and N.Z.
