The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Sir Austen Chamberlain, has appointed Mr. Robert G. Vansittart, a counsellor at the Foreign Office, as Assistant-Under Secretary of State. He will remain seconded for service as principal private secretary to the Prime Minister.

Air. Lancelot Oliphant, also a counsellor, has been appointed as acting Assistant-Under Secretary.—A. and N.Z.
