DANCING IN THE AIR

FLOOR IN AIRSHIP WONDERS OF THE RIOO The most wonderful skeleton in the world —the metal framework of the airship Rloo—is to be seen at Howden, in Yorkshire. The RIOO is to be finished in April. It will carry 100 passengers, 35 of a crew, and 10 tons of mails or other freight. Passengers will be able to travel in her from London to New York or Montreal in 48 hours for a fare of £IOO. An all-in first-class liner fare is about £125. These are among the claims made for RIOO by Commander C. D. Burney, M.P., the managing director of the Airship Guarantee Company, Ltd., which is building her to the order of the British Air Ministry. “This ship,” said Commander Burney, “is entirely for commercial purposes—useless in wartime—and shi will be made as a commercial production job. Her total cost will b» £450,000/” The dining-room, -with its 5-ply wooden floor, will be 36 feet by 24 feet. It will seat 50 people, or, cleared, provide dancing space for an equal number. The music will be* provided by wireless. There will also be 36 bunks in two and four-berth cabins, and two promenades on this floor. The floor above Is a lounge, from tho centre of which you look over a balcony into the dining-room. Surrounding this lounge are 60 more berths. Below the dining-room are the kitchen quarters, connected by service lifts.
